Introducing CFO activities in 2019

After taking office in October 2019, the CFO and Summit members in fiscal 2019 investigated the business condition of the Company and formulated the following environmental policies.

We aim to build a system that allows consumers to take environmentally conscious actions regardless of whether they are environmentally conscious or not.

Based on the policies developed by the CFO and Summit members, we have decided to take on the challenge of reducing the amount of petroleum-derived plastics used in our products by 50% by 2021.

Euglena GENKI Program

The reason that Euglena Co., Ltd. was founded is because our company president, Mr. Izumo, visited Bangladesh when he was a student and witnessed the children there who were suffering from malnutrition. Part of the proceeds from the sale of our Group’s products is used to fund the Euglena GENKI Program, which distributes cookies containing nutrient-rich Euglena to the children of Bangladesh free of charge. We want to deliver sufficient nutrition to more people and help to bring happiness to everyone. We will continue our work based on this philosophy until the day arrives when the children of our future can live healthily.

Euglena are covered by the GENKI program.

Biofuel Business

Global warming is progressing every moment. What kind of global environment can we, who live in the present, leave for our children and future generations? Not facing global warming now will rob children of their future. We are planning to introduce biofuels to mobiles on land, sea and air, and to build a commercial production system for biofuels by 2025. Our goal is to expand the supporters who manufacture and use biofuels throughout Japan in order to protect the future of children.
