Nao Nitta, Executive Officer and Energy Company CEO Ltd., will be speaking at the international event "Circular Economy for More Sustainable and Resilient Supply Chains," to be held at Euglena Embassy in Tokyo on Thursday, March 26, 2026.

This event is an international dialogue event bringing together government agencies, research institutions, and companies from both Japan and Italy, focusing on building sustainable and resilient supply chains through resource efficiency and a circular economy. The latest policy, technological, and industrial trends related to energy transition, circular bioeconomy, and biofuels will be discussed.

Nitta will give a presentation in Session 2, "Circular Bioeconomy for energy transition and sustainable production," on the topic of "Scaling Biofuels in Malaysia: Eni & Petronas with Euglena, and Algae Oil R&D for Future Feedstock."

At the 2026 Annual Meeting of the Japan Society for Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Agrochemistry, held from March 9th to 12th, 2026, I presented a joint paper with Associate Professor Takahiro Adachi of Tokyo University of Science on "The effects of the microalga Euglena and its storage polysaccharide paramylon on neuro-immune resonance."

In this study, evaluation using IgA-deficient mice confirmed that Euglena intake increased the number of various immune cells and improved anxiety-like behaviors, suggesting its potential effects on both the nervous and immune systems.
Our company will continue to conduct research and development with the aim of further elucidating the potential physiological functions of Euglena and expanding the potential applications of Euglena and its components in the fields of health foods, medicine, and other areas.

On Thursday, March 26, 2026, the "YUNUS GLOBAL FORUM 2026 TOKYO," a commemorative lecture by Dr. Muhammad Yunus during his visit to Japan, will be held at the United Nations University.
This forum will feature a keynote speech by Dr. Yunus, Nobel Peace Prize laureate and founder of Grameen Bank, as well as a presentation by Izumo Euglena Co., Ltd.
