Euglena Co., Ltd.

Euglena Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, President: Mitsuru Izumo) has adopted the "2013 Collaborative Innovation Promotion Program Grant Project" by the Tokyo Metropolitan Small and Medium Enterprise Promotion Corporation, which is unique to Euglena. We would like to report that we received this in "Development of a new external preparation to prevent and improve euglena (reading: jokuso) (bed slippage)" using the ingredient paramylon.
We have filed a patent application (May 2, 2012) for a wound healing promoting effect in a paramylon film made using paramylon, which is a component peculiar to Euglena (scientific name: Euglena). In this adoption, we will take advantage of this effect and work on the development of new external preparations that are effective in preventing and improving pressure ulcers.
In addition, pressure ulcer means that the tissue becomes necrotic due to the skin being pressed for a long time, and its prevention includes the use of bedding with nutritional management and body pressure distribution function. As the aging of society is expected in the future, the demand for prevention and improvement of pressure ulcers is expected to increase. Therefore, we will contribute to the nutritional management of many people through the spread of foods containing euglena. We aim to contribute to an aging society by developing new products that help prevent and improve pressure ulcers using this subsidy program.
