About joint experiment with Tokyo on sewage treatment using Euglena (scientific name: Euglena)

 Euglena Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, President: Mitsuru Izumo) of Euglena Company, which has a research institute in the University of Tokyo, is a member of the Tokyo Metropolitan Sewerage Bureau and Euglena (scientific name: Euglena). We have started a joint experiment on sewage treatment using mass culture technology.
 This joint experiment is one of the three-year action plan measures of the "Execution Program 2012 for" Tokyo in 2020 "" implemented by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. It is carried out as "cultivation of industries that contribute to solving urban issues" in "Forming a Business Base in 1".
 Specifically, we aim to reduce nitrogen and phosphorus in the sewage treatment process by utilizing the property of Euglena to take in inorganic substances in water and our outdoor mass culture technology of Euglena.
 This joint experiment started in 2012. In the future, we aim to contribute to global environmental problems through the development of environmental purification technologies such as water purification that makes the best use of the properties of Euglena.
