Euglena Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, President: Mitsuru Izumo) applied for a proposal for the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's 2008 "Technology Seeds Discovery / Social System Demonstration Model Project for a Low-Carbon Society" It was adopted on February 25th. This project is a project by National University Corporation Ryukyu University (Nakagami District, Okinawa Prefecture, President: Teruo Iwamasa), Okinawa TLO Co., Ltd., Okinawa Electric Power Co., Ltd., Nissin Co., Ltd. and Euglena
The purpose of this project is to construct a new carbon regeneration system by conducting a carbon dioxide fixation test by photosynthesis of seaweeds by utilizing the abundant amount of solar radiation and favorable weather conditions in Okinawa.
Taking this adoption as an opportunity, we will further promote research and development of carbon dioxide fixation, and strive to convey to more people our corporate philosophy of contributing to raising awareness of the photosynthetic ability of the Euglena I shall go.
