■研究について
本研究では、羊などの反芻動物に与える飼料の一部を微細藻類ユーグレナ(以下、ユーグレナ)で代替することにより、たんぱく質の消化率と蓄積効率が向上する実験結果が得られました。
この実験結果より、ユーグレナを飼料として使用することで栄養効率のよい飼育が可能となることが期待されます。
今後もユーグレナを飼料として使用した場合の効果検証を行い、飼料としての価値向上を目指してまいります。 -

February 21st "Social Business Japan Forum 2017" held

We will participate as a member of the executive committee in the "Social Business Japan Forum 2017" to be held on February 21st, inviting Mr. Muhammad Yunus, the winner of the 2006 Nobel Peace Prize.
Euglena, our group company in Bangladesh, and this time he will come to Japan to discuss how to take root in social business in Japan.

■ About research content
In this study, we discovered the extracellular production of succinic acid by Euglena
Previously, extracellular succinic acid production was unknown for Euglena Euglena under bright / aerobic conditions (high oxygen concentration) at room temperature and then shifting to dark / anaerobic conditions (low oxygen concentration), Euglena became dark.・ It was clarified that succinic acid is released extracellularly under anaerobic conditions. Succinic acid is a material that has been attracting attention in recent years as a raw material for bioplastics, and is expected to be socially implemented as a useful raw material for the chemical industry in the future.
