NEDO's open call for "Biojet fuel production technology development project / Construction of supply chain model through demonstration, development of microalgae basic technology"
Our bio-jet fuel business / microalgae research and development for fuel has been adopted

Euglena Co., Ltd.

Euglena Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Mitsuru Izumo) is conducting research and development on the bio-jet fuel business and microalgae for fuel, which is being promoted by the National Research and Development Corporation New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (hereinafter referred to as "" NEDO ") is pleased to announce that it has been adopted for the open call for participants" Bio-jet fuel production technology development business / Construction of supply chain model through demonstration, development of microalgae basic technology "in the bio-jet fuel production technology development business.

We started research and development of biofuels in 2010, and in addition to research and development on microalgae for fuel, in October 2018, Japan's first biojet diesel fuel production demonstration plant (hereinafter referred to as "biofuel production demonstration plant") ”) Has been completed, and we are working on empirical research and production of biofuels. In addition, we aim to start the operation of a commercial biofuel manufacturing plant by the end of 2025, and we are conducting business studies and research and development to realize this.
This time, NEDO's publicly solicited "Biojet fuel production technology development project / Construction of supply chain model through demonstration, development of microalgae basic technology" includes research and development on biojet fuel business and microalgae for fuel. It was adopted. As a result, we plan to receive subsidy support for operating costs of biofuel production demonstration plants, business study costs for commercialization, investment in demonstration equipment for culturing microalgae for fuel, and operating costs.
Going forward, we will accelerate the establishment of a consistent supply chain from raw material procurement to fuel manufacturing technology and fuel supply, and the establishment of technology for the production of microalgae as a raw material for fuel, toward the start of operation of a commercial biofuel manufacturing plant by the end of 2025. Let me do it.

NEDO's publicly-offered project "Bio-jet fuel production technology development project / Construction of supply chain model through demonstration, development of microalgae basic technology" * 1 details are as follows.
