■ Our approach to sustainability
When disclosing information on sustainability, we classify the Group's efforts into two categories: (1) the challenge of achieving SDGs through our business and (2) ESG management that supports sustainable business activities.

Figure 2

(1) Challenge to achieve SDGs through business
Based on our management philosophy of "Making People and the Earth Healthy," we are working to solve social problems facing the world through our business. In addition to the healthcare business, which mainly aims to solve health problems in Japan and provide a lively life, the energy and environment business, which aims to develop and popularize biofuels that will help mitigate Climate Change, we also have a food business in Bangladesh. We are promoting social businesses that provide support. The Group aims to lead the improvement of corporate value through the medium- to long-term growth of these businesses, solve the social issues targeted by each business, and contribute to the achievement of the SDGs.

(2) ESG management that supports sustainable business activities
On the other hand, our business activities are supported by various blessings of the natural environment and many stakeholders such as investors and local communities, and we have responded to ESG in order to realize long-term sustainable management. We recognize that it is necessary to build a management base. The management base that supports ESG is the foundation for realizing the challenge of achieving SDGs through the above businesses, and in order to further accelerate business growth, ESG management that supports sustainable business activities I think that we should attach importance to.

■ Contents of the web page
Based on the above concept, our sustainability web page has newly established pages that introduce ESG management policies and initiatives in addition to the introduction of current business activities that contribute to the achievement of the SDGs that have been disclosed on the corporate website. We have systematically organized our efforts regarding SDGs and ESG management.
