About capital tie-up between Ryukyu Golden Kings operating company and Euglena
~ Make Okinawa more energetic! Collaboration between the two companies will contribute to the further promotion of the Okinawa region ~

Okinawa Basketball Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Okinawa City, Okinawa Prefecture, President: Tatsuro Kimura, hereinafter "Okinawa Basketball Company"), which operates the B League "Ryukyu Golden Kings" (hereinafter referred to as "Kings"), and Euglena (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Mitsuru Izumo, hereinafter "Euglena"), Okinawa Basketball Co., Ltd. has Euglena Co., Ltd. as the second largest shareholder, aiming to collaborate for the promotion of the Okinawa region. We are pleased to inform you that we will enter into a capital tie-up (hereinafter referred to as "capital tie-up").

■ About Ryukyu Golden Kings and Euglena
 Okinawa Basketball is the operating company of Kings, which is extremely popular in the B League * 1. Kings won the league title four times, which was the largest number in the Bj League era, the predecessor of the B League, and is now the B League. Belonging to the 1st division west district of Okinawa, it is one of the leading teams in the league, boasting numerous achievements such as being ranked first in the district in the 2017-2018 season. * 1: A new professional basketball league that started in the fall of 2016.
 Euglena has a variety of Euglena-related micro-algae Euglena (Japanese name: Midorimushi, hereinafter referred to as "Euglena") with edible outdoor mass cultivation technology as its core technology. In addition to conducting research and development activities, we will develop a healthcare business that manufactures and sells functional foods and cosmetics using Euglena, and an energy / environment business that develops biofuels using Euglena. We are developing.

 Euglena Co., Ltd., which has a production base Euglena Ishigaki Island, Okinawa Prefecture, has been supporting activities as an official partner of Kings since 2010, sympathizing with Kings who advocates the idea of "making Okinawa more energetic!" In addition, we have built various cooperative relationships, such as realizing the first bj league official game * 2 and B league official game (see Fig. 1 on the right) * 3 on Ishigaki Island, which is the first to be held on a remote island.

 In response to this capital tie-up, Tatsuro Kimura, President and CEO of Okinawa Basketball Company, said, "Euglena and Kings have collaborated through holding official games on Ishigaki Island, etc., but we have deepened our cooperation more than ever. ■ Outline of capital tie-up
 Euglena Co., Ltd. acquired the common stock of Okinawa Basketball Co., Ltd. (equity ratio 23.0%) by absorbing and merging * 4 with Sports Innovation Co., Ltd., which is the current shareholder of Okinawa Basketball Co., Ltd., on April 1, 2019. Established in 2006 as a kings management company in response to the decision to enter the bj league of the professional basketball team "Ryukyu Golden Kings" based in Okinawa. He has participated in the bj league since the 2007/2008 season, won his first victory in the 2008/2009 season, and achieved four league championships, the most in the bj league era (see Figure 2 on the right). Currently, he belongs to the 1st division west district of the B League, and boasts a number of achievements such as being ranked 1st in the district in the 2017-2018 season. From 2020, the arena that will accommodate 10,000 people, which is scheduled to be completed in Okinawa City, will be the home arena.
