 Euglena Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo, President: Mitsuru Izumo) has been selected as a subsidy company by the "2016 Microalgae Fuel Production Demonstration Project Cost Subsidy" of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's Resources and Energy Agency. I will inform you of that.
 This subsidy will establish a production technology for domestic biofuels derived from microalgaes by partially subsidizing a demonstration project aimed at establishing a domestic biofuel production system that utilizes indigenous microalgaes in Fukushima Prefecture. The purpose is to build a stable energy supply and demand structure.

■ About research to be subsidized
 This is a subsidy for research aimed at establishing domestic biofuel production technology derived from microalgae and putting domestic biofuel into practical use by tackling the following issues using microalgae that live in Fukushima Prefecture.
① Construction, analysis and evaluation of exhaust heat / exhaust gas (CO2) utilization system
 Build a system to use exhaust heat and exhaust gas derived from thermal power plants, etc., and analyze and evaluate the utilization effect (CO2 absorption amount, cost reduction effect, etc.)
② Construction, analysis and evaluation of sewage utilization system
 Build a system that uses sewage or wastewater from sewage treatment plants, and analyze and evaluate the effects of using nutrients in sewage or wastewater (absorption amount of nutrients, cost reduction effect, etc.)
③ Construction, analysis and evaluation of an integrated production system for microalgae-derived biofuels
 Constructed an integrated production system for microalgae-derived biofuels incorporating the above systems (1) and (2), and conducted verification on the scale-up for practical use.
④ Analysis and evaluation of institutional and social issues
 Analysis and evaluation of institutional (law, etc.) and social (natural / environmental, human impact, etc.) issues to be solved when using waste heat / exhaust gas or sewage for culturing microalgae toward the practical stage Implementation
⑤ Examination for practical use of domestic biofuel
 In order to formulate a plan for practical use after the end of this project and to steadily implement the plan based on the trial calculation of economic efficiency and energy balance calculated by comprehensively considering the evaluation results of (1) to (4) above. Extract the issues of the above and implement the examination of the corresponding solutions
