​The research "Creation of microalga biorefinery that realizes low CO 2 and low environmental load" jointly proposed by the functional bio-co-creation consortium in which we are participating is "Industry-academia collaboration" conducted by the Japan Science and Technology Agency. It was adopted as a co-creation platform development type co-creation platform development type 2018 new research area / co-creation consortium of "Creation Platform Joint Research Promotion Program (OPERA)".

In this research, in collaboration with universities and companies participating in the consortium, we have realized the production of useful substances and biofuels using microalgae selected from a library of 3,000 algae strains as raw materials, and integrated them into a biorefinery process. By creating biofuels, we will reduce the production cost of biofuels and aim for the early commercialization of biofuels.
