Notice of the start of the Ishigaki Island regional promotion activity "Mifaiyu Project"
-Implement efforts to revitalize Ishigaki Island, such as sports / education support and environmental conservation activities-

 Ishigaki production at Ishigaki Island Euglena Co., Ltd. to produce Euglena (Headquarters: Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo, President: charge and Izumo, following Euglena Co., Ltd.) is, Ishigaki City Board of Education, Ishigaki Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with the Yaeyama Basketball Association, Ishigaki Island's regional promotion activity "Mifaiyu Project" will start on May 11th (Friday).
 The "Mifaiyu Project" will support sports and education centered on children and students on Ishigaki Island, and will also carry out various environmental activities. Through this project, we aim to further revitalize Ishigaki Island and protect the natural environment, and contribute to regional development such as attracting tourists and creating employment.

■ About implementation contents
 May 12th and 13th Yaeyama Industrial Festival
  At the Yaeyama Industry Festival, in collaboration with the Ishigaki island specialty product development project "Mishima Shomusume" by six high school girls from Yaeyama Shoko High School, produced by Mishima Shomusume
  We will sell products containing Euglena from Ishigaki.
 August 25th and 26th: Ishigaki Island Basketball Tournament "Euglena Cup"
  Basketball in Ishigaki Island, which is held every year on Ishigaki Island, following the bj league's first remote island game "Euglena Game" held on January 29 this year.
  Euglena Co., Ltd. will be the main sponsor of the 2012 event carnival competition. The name of the tournament is called "Euglena Cup", and it is newly named "Ishigaki Island
  By holding the “strongest team deciding match” and providing prizes by Euglena, we will create a greater sense of unity and vitality on the island for the tournament.
 Holding science experiment classes (scheduled several times a year)
  As a company from the University of Tokyo that develops environment-related technology, we will hold science experiment classes at elementary, junior high, and high schools for the purpose of environmental education. Our research
