ユーグレナ社の次世代バイオディーゼル燃料「サステオ」が
博多どんたく港まつりの「にしてつ花自動車」の燃料に採用されました

　株式会社ユーグレナ（本社：東京都港区、代表取締役社長：出雲充）は、当社の次世代バイオディーゼル燃料「サステオ」（以下「サステオ」）が、2024年5月2日(木)から5月4日(土・祝)に開催された第63回「博多どんたく港まつり」^※1において、西日本鉄道株式会社の「にしてつ花自動車」の燃料として採用されたことをお知らせします。

※1 福岡市で毎年5月3日と4日に行われ、国内外から200万人以上が参加する祭り

　「にしてつ花自動車」とは、博多どんたく開催時に福岡市内を運行する、電飾で彩られた車両です。今回、環境に配慮した運行を行うため、「にしてつ花自動車」3台の燃料として「サステオ」が初めて採用されました^※2,3。

　「サステオ」の供給先は、これまで、バスや配送車、消防車などの車両、タグボートやフェリーなどの船舶、商業用ジェット機や双発機などの飛行機と、陸・海・空の全領域で拡大、多様化しており、供給実績は累計93件を超えております。

　当社は、持続可能な社会の実現に向けて環境負荷低減に貢献するため、今後も次世代バイオディーゼル燃料「サステオ」の普及を目指します。

＜サステオについて＞
「サステオ」は、食料との競合や森林破壊といった問題を起こさない持続可能性に優れたバイオマスを原料とするバイオ燃料であり、バイオマス原料を活用することから、化石燃料由来の燃料と相対的に比較した場合にCO2削減効果が期待されます。その最大の特徴は、分子構造が石油由来の軽油と同じ炭化水素のため、軽油を使用する機械や車両にそのまま利用可能であることです。
