マレーシア工科大学と共同でマレーシアにて国際藻類学会を開催しました

　株式会社ユーグレナ（本社：東京都港区、代表取締役社長：出雲充）は、Euglena Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.、Leave a Nest Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.、マレーシア工科大学（マレー語：Universiti Teknologi Malaysia(UTM)）と共同で、マレーシアにおいて「国際藻類学会Global Algae Summit 2023 (GAS 2023)」を2023年8月17日に開催したことをお知らせします。

　マレーシアはその温暖な気候と日射量から植物が光合成をするのに適しており、数多くの研究者が藻類の研究を行っています。しかし、藻類に関する国際的な学会は定期開催されていませんでした。
　そこで、藻類に知見があり、国際的な学会開催のノウハウを持つ4者共同で、マレーシア内外の大学や藻類を研究している企業、政府関係者が集い、お互いにネットワークを広げる場を創出することを目的に、「国際藻類学会Global Algae Summit 2023 (GAS 2023) 」を開催しました。
　今後も本学会を定期的に開催し、マレーシアおよびASEAN圏の国々とともに、さらなる研究開発の推進を目指していきます。

About Euglena Malaysia Sdn. Bhd.
Euglena Malaysia was established in 2022 as the local operation base of Eiglena Co., Ltd. Euglena Malaysia started R&D department in 2023 and is conducting research and development as the Euglena Group's- Tropical Biomass Technology Research Institute in a laboratory (Euglena - UTM satellite lab) located at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia ( UTM ) Kuala Lumpur campus. In addition to conducting research focusing on maximizing and optimizing biomass production and utilization for biofuel feedstick applications, including microalgae such as euglena, other algae, and plants, the laboratory aims to promote biomass-related research and development in the ASEAN region, including Malaysia.
