バングラデシュ事務所開設1周年と、
GENKIプログラムのテレビ取材 【2014年10月の活動報告】

The Bangladesh office also celebrated its first anniversary in October. Below is a report on the status of activities in October.

1. Introduction: 1st anniversary of Bangladesh office opening

This month marks the first anniversary of the opening of the Bangladesh office in October last year. The Euglena GENKI program started in April of this year, and the number of elementary schools and children has continued to increase. Currently, a total of 11 elementary schools operated by four NGOs, about 2,600 children enter Euglena every day. We are delivering cookies. It's been more than half a year since we started the Euglena GENKI program, and children are looking forward to eating cookies every day. I am very grateful to the school teachers for their support.

2. Headquarters team visits Bangladesh

At the end of October, three people, including our president Izumo, visited the Bangladesh office. Izumo came to Bangladesh this time mainly for the purpose of interviewing "Cambria Palace" on TV Tokyo. In Bangladesh, even the arrival of Japanese people attracts attention, but when it comes to interviews, the slums in Dhaka were crowded. There, Izumo listened to their dreams, understood the actual situation, and reaffirmed the need for this program. Bangladesh is a very hot country, but it has a mysterious charm that makes people feel the heat of their hearts rather than the heat of the temperature.

3. TV coverage of the GENKI program

I was interviewed by the TV Tokyo program "Cumbria Palace". Izumo reported that the nutritional intake of Bangladesh has hardly changed from 1998, 16 years ago. Shooting was wide-ranging, including general households, slums, elementary schools, Dhaka city, and the smiles of children. During the elementary school shoot, the children sent various messages in front of the camera about the Euglena GENKI program. For example, "Please continue to distribute Euglena cookies", "Don't stop this project". It was significant for us to be able to reconfirm that the Euglena GENKI program is being accepted by children as a very important project.
