In the second part, we will talk about the realization of our philosophy and goals.

What do you need to achieve your goals and dreams?

Mitsuru Izumo (hereinafter referred to as Izumo): We "fly planes with fuel containing euglena", "eliminate malnourished children in the world", the very first goal of the SDGs is the direction of our business, but Kracie's goal and What is your dream?

President Iwakura (hereinafter Iwakura): It is that Kracie is a company that is crazy about the world 100 years from now.
It's not an immediate goal, it's 100 years away.
By the way, Our goal is to "fly an airplane with fuel containing euglena" and "eliminate malnourished children around the world." How do you share that direction with your employees?

Izumo: Well, I don't change what I say to anyone. Whether you are a famous politician or an elementary school student, you will also say, "Fly an airplane with fuel containing euglena" and "Eliminate malnourished children in the world."
I don't think the basics have changed since the company was created.
And Euglena are people who sympathize with the vision, so they are all crazy (laughs).

However, since I am a venture company and the number of people is small, I can say something strange, but I think that as the company grows, it will become more difficult at an accelerating rate.
So, I would like Kracie's president, who is a crazy senior, to tell me the difficulty of crazy.

Iwakura: I feel that the important thing is to continue.
It is important to continue as if you are still doing it.
We have enacted the corporate philosophy "Sign", and every year on January 15th, we reconfirm why it was enacted and why we are trying to make it thorough.
One business recites a "sign" before the meeting. Anyway, be thorough.
It also appears in the exam to become a section chief.

Izumo: I wonder if the difficulty level to be thorough will change between large companies and venture companies. What is important to ensure that even the more difficult large companies are thorough?

Iwakura: First of all, people who are close to management should firmly put into practice the philosophy.
Unless the management is thorough, it will not be communicated to employees. You have to be very conscious.
When explaining the business policy from January to March, I will go to 22 places nationwide to explain what kind of intention this word was defined. If I have time, I create a place where people can have conversations and ask questions, such as drinking alcohol together.
Thoroughness is the most important thing, and how much you can talk face to face is important. You can also say that you can have a glass of sake.
There are many things that cannot be understood without looking at the site. Even when I am a business company, I go to the country of the business partner and actually check it. Because of this era, there are many things that you can't understand without actually going.

Is there anything stupid?

Iwakura: I definitely want to ask Mr. Izumo. The book says, "There is nothing stupid," but what is your heart that emphasizes that idea?

Izumo: The more I study Euglena, the more I can understand, but there were times when I thought it would be really useful.
However, I often find this meaningless only after acting on my own.
If you don't try it, you'll have to experience it as a living experience.

And I don't think there's anything silly in the world, so I tried to tell myself that even if I thought this was meaningless, it wouldn't happen.
By doing so, I learned something new about Euglena.
From this successful experience, I came to value the word "nothing is crap."

Iwakura: That's right. In this year's business policy, Kracie has added something that says "stick to small things."
It's hard to do big things suddenly that "become crazy". However, what everyone usually thinks is small and trivial leads to big things, so I want you to stick to small things as well. That commitment will lead to big actions.
That's why I like the site, but I'm doing great things at the site. But I take it for granted in the field. Even though I'm crazy about quality.
Like those people, the consciousness of trying to stick to what they are doing first, and that commitment leads to big actions.

Izumo: I want to go to the factory.

Iwakura: By all means (laughs), there are some factories that are registered as important cultural properties.

Izumo: Euglena Co., Ltd. as the conversation partner for "Sign Day". It was a great honor to be able to talk to one of Japan's leading companies and crazy seniors.

Iwakura: No, I'm glad I was able to talk about "Sign Day". Thank you very much.
