In our company, we are aiming to establish a carbon cycling society using the microorganism, Euglena.
Euglena grows up using CO2 by photosynthesis. So if we can use the CO2 emitted from thermal power plants or ironworks, Euglena can grow while converting the CO2 to O2 which as a result reduces CO2 emission.
The possibilities of the use of large amount of Euglena include many different applications. As Euglena is highly rich in protein, it can be used as a food source for human being and also as feed of pets and cultured fishes. Already our company has started researches to extract oil from Euglena that has a great potential to be used as jet and vehicle fuel.
